The MonTANNER Award
We pay tribute to Tanner Noble with the MonTANNER Timed DH Segment in the Big Sky Biggie 30 mile course.
Tanner’s time on earth was much too short, but the fact that when he passed away he was doing one of his favorite things – mountain biking – with some of his best friends, in one of his favorite places on earth – Montana, helps us to understand that he had no regrets and truly lived his mantra.
The 2024 MonTANNER Timed DH Segment
The segment begins near the top of the Fishcamp descent and ends just before you reach Aid Station #2. This trail is known as Fishcamp and it’s a hoot. There are several road crossings. The first road crossing is a very busy road, and we’ll have crossing guards here. The START timing mat will be placed on the downhill side of this road crossing for safety reasons. You’ll cross the timing mat and the timed segment begins. There are two other road crossings, but they have less traffic, and therefore will not have course marshalls. It is always your responsibility to look for traffic at any road crossing. The DH timed segment does include a few punchy climbs – to keep it interesting. Pedal, Pedal, Pedal!
