Big Sky Biggie Training Plans

Our friends over at The Mountain Project have created some training plans specifically for the Big Sky Biggie courses.    Awesome!

These plans were built in TrainingPeaks. The pros of these plans include:

30-mile to 50k
Mountain Bike Training Plan Plan

This 12-week, 30-mile to 50k mountain bike training plan considers having a net gain and loss of 5,000+ vertical feet. It is designed for the intermediate/expert rider. The plan is a balance between the working man/woman’s life and a semi-professional rider. Aside from recovery weeks, the shortest week has a duration of 5.25-hours. The longest week has a duration of 12-hours. The periodized plan includes threshold workouts, speed and power workouts, as well as, vertical feet gain targets. This plan is NOT a strength training plan. Good luck and have fun!

50-mile to 100k
Mountain Bike Training Plan

This 16-week, 50-mile to 100k mountain bike training plan considers having a net gain and loss of 10,000+ vertical feet. It is designed for the intermediate/expert rider. The plan is a balance between the working man/woman’s life and a professional rider. Aside from recovery weeks, the shortest week has a duration of 7.5-hours. The longest week has a duration of 15.5-hours. The periodized plan includes threshold workouts, speed and power workouts, as well as, vertical feet gain targets.
